Baseball:  Howard Szurlinski

11U boys won their tournament

O’Connell & Bess teams took 2nd place in their leagues

Season is now over and will begin collecting uniforms

3rd/4th grade team was 2/4/2

5th/6th grade team was 6/3

7th/8th grade team was 5/4

 

B oys Basketball:  Gary Ehling

Football:  Bill Robb & Joe Lengerich

Now have 19 boys signed up.  Will present the budget and coaches at the August meeting.  Practices will start in about a month.

 

Golf:  Jim Seithel

Practice started on Tuesday.  Need at least one more player, they have 8 and need 9

 

Girls Volleyball:  Mike Wills & Mark Aufderbeck

Boys Volleyball:  Joe Froehle

League wants to only have A & B level teams and remove the C level.  This will be voted on later this summer. 

St. Al’s will be hosting a high school team next year for anyone who is interested, more to follow.

Boys Soccer:  Todd Westendorf

TCYO preseason tournament will be held the first two weekends of August. 

We have 48 boys playing and may have a couple of boys from St. Catherine’s too.

Paul Petronio’s team is looking for players, currently only having 12 and they play 11 v 11

Passed out team forms and SAY volunteer forms to be completed and returned

Practices can start the week of July 26th

 

Girls Soccer:  Bryan Siebenburgen

Open mat time will be July 8th and 22nd, working on getting another date in August. 

Mark is still working on getting coaches.

Golf Outing July 31st

 

New Business:

Review the athletics home page “God Talk for Coaches”

Get back to the basics.  What role do the coaches have?  Have Father come to September meeting

and invite all coaches to attend to they can hear what they need to be doing and discuss ways to implement

this.

 

Ways to Increase meeting attendance

Try and bring one new person to the meeting in September.  Also, start thinking of other ways to get people involved and

coming to the meetings.

 

September Meeting – Grill Out

We will be having a grill out at the September meeting.

 

Addendum to By-Laws – Section 2B

Will keep the wording the same, but will enforce that we must have at least two bids before we purchase any kind of

equipment, uniform or spirit wears going forward.

 

All outstanding gym & cooler keys to be returned

If anyone still has gym or cooler keys that need to be turned in, please bring them to the next GA meeting in August.

 

Todd Grandstaff – Team Photos

Girl’s softball team photos were taken the week that they were due to the yearbook.  Many of the girls on the

teams were not able to make the pictures.  For the 3rd & 4th grade girls, the pictures were taken

during a lightning storm.  Many angry parents.  Is there any reason that the photo sessions can not be?

scheduled in the beginning of the season?

 

Per Todd Westendorf – in ’09 this same thing came up, it is the responsibility of each Commissioner to set up the

times for the pictures.  It was recommended last year that the commissioners contact Lisa a week before your season started practice to set up times and places for the pictures to be taken.  Commissioners to please make note of this for the

upcoming seasons.

     More to follow, but will have another painting party to paint the gym walls as well as the new locker in the old Music

       room.
