A Word from your pastor
There is a great quote from Gayle Sayers in the movie, Brian's Song: "The Lord is first, my friends are second, and I am third."
This is consistent with the virtues we are responsible for instilling in our youth. I can think of no better avenue for training in Christian life than the world of sports. St. Paul the Apostle made ample use of athletic illustrations in his teaching of the faith.
You, our coaches and volunteers, are in an ideal position to follow the Apostle's example and bear witness to the faith that saves.
I hope you will find this Prayer Book helpful in your efforts at forming the generation of young Catholics who have been placed in our care.
