St. Aloysius Gonzaga Athletic Association

Prayer Book For Coaches

St. Al's sports creed

I am a creation of God.

I am a disciple of Christ.

All my talents and abilities come from God.

By using and improving my talents

I honor the Lord Jesus Christ.

I exercise my faith and my mind as well as my body.

I keep my body pure and strong.

People see God through me.

My Christian faith and beliefs,

my Church, my school and my family

are judged by my actions both on and off the field.

I treat those around me with respect and kindness.

My coaches volunteer to help me improve;

I will listen and learn from them.

The officials ensure that events

are played by the rules and for our protection;

I will play fairly and abide by their calls.

Players on other teams are my opponents,

they are not my enemies.

I put my best effort into my game

not only for my coaches,

my teammates,

my family and myself

but for the glory of God because God expects

no less than my best.
