St Al’s PTO General Assembly Meeting Minutes

Wednesday, August 31, 2011

Call to Order:  The meeting was called to order by Bridget Lane at 7:04.

Opening Prayer:  Fr. Mike offered a prayer and inspirational poem.

Pledge of Allegiance:  Tania Reyes and Bridget Lane lead the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Welcome:  Bridget made opening remarks to the assembly.  Bridget introduced the PTO board members.  President’s Bridget Lane and Tania Reyes.  No vice-presidents, no recording secretary, treasurer Diana Nusekable, corresponding secretary Nicole Weber, school rep’s and ways & means Amy Hamilton, Becky Wichman and Jenny Hester.

A motion to approve the minutes as written was made by Kathy Hicks and a second was made by Debbie King.  The motion passed.

Reports:  Treasurer’s Report 

The budget sent out in the Friday packet was updated.  There was an error; Graduation Party should have read $840. 

A motion for the PTO 2011-2012 budget to be approved was made by Eileen Schweinberg.  A second was made by Lisa Storm.  The budget passed.

Corresponding Secretary  No report

School Rep  Everybody Counts is looking for chairperson.

Ways & Means  Fundraisers Yankee Candle from September 23-October 5.  Also new this year will be an Easter candy sale from Fawn Candy.  Gator Call, Gator Crawl, Kroger Cards, GFS Rewards cards, Labels for Education and Scripts.  Chili Cookoff needs a chairperson and we would like to put a Vendor night with Chili Cookoff.

Scripts gave away a $10 gift certificate to April Parker for Wendy’s.

New Business:

Athletics – Athletic Association President Mike Wills invited all families to because part of Athletics.  Sandy Wohlfrom is taking over Spirit Wear.

Raffle drawings:  Mr. Rapien’s class had the most parents and receive an out of uniform day.

Split the Pot was won by Gustavo Rivera/Tania Reyes.

Tuition Credit, 2 $25 credits were received by Amy Ehling and Colleen Goodin.

Closing:  A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Jenny Rhein and 2^nd by Emily Mason.  Bridget Lane adjourned the meeting at 7:43.

Next General Assembly meeting is January 4, 2011 in the cafeteria.
