EVERYBODY COUNTS - This is a program designed to
teach the children about the different disabilities
and diseases people can have. It teaches them how
people cope with handicaps or disabilities. Each grade
is taught about something different according to their
maturity level. This requires about an 1 to 1 -~ hours
of time. The time is set up according to the teachers
flexibility, 2 or 3 volunteers per grade or class is
good. All instructions and materials are provided at
school (optional workshops are available).
|
| PLAYGROUND
- Volunteers come to aid teachers in maintaining order on the
playground or in the classroom for recess everyday after lunch for
grades 1-5. The time required is 11:00 - 12:00. This
covers both recesses. When you arrive, sign in at the office,
get a guest name tag, and pick up the First Aid Kit and radio.
Introduce yourself to the teacher on the playground.
Please move among the children to maintain order.
If a ball goes into the street, teachers have requested that a
parent get the ball, not the students.
In the event of rain, you will still be needed for indoor recess.
If you are unable to make your scheduled day, please find a
replacement.
If you are unable to find a replacement, please contact school.
