Welcome to Cub Scout Pack 187!
Cub Scouts is a year-round program that offers fun activities that promote character and leadership development. Our program is designed to be hands-on, and parents are encouraged to play an active role in our programs. The pack's committee of leaders and parents plan and put together a fun, educational and enriching family program that everyone will enjoy. Our pack is open to anyone who lives in the surrounding area. We partner with Saint Martin's of Tours as our co-parish, and we enjoy a great relationship in scouting.
2020-2021 Scouting Year
Pack 187 has started it's scouting year and is currently searching out families and scouts to join our group.
Some of our Scouts celebrated Scout Sunday this month with their families. We asked them to attend their church with their family wearing their uniform or scout shirt. Unfortunatly we were not able to gather as a group for this special day this year so that we can ensure the safety of our scouts, but more importantly the health of the parishioners at Saint Aloysius.
We are going to meet at The Gymnastics Center this month so the scouts can get out and stretch thier legs. We are crossing our fingers that our community stays healthy enough for us to start meeting in person again. While the virtual meetings have been fun and we have created some fun crafts it just doesn't compare to the face to face meetings.
We have ordered our Pinewood Derby cars and will be handing those out soon. This years race will be a lot of fun, even if we do have to keep it smaller. This is always a great event. The fun begins before the race even begins, as families work together with their scout to create their awesome cars.
This year is going to look different than years past. We will be taking all procautions to avoid any passing of germs or sickness. This will include social distancing, temperature taking, wearing masks, and it may even mean a virtual meeting or two.
This year will be some of our leaderships last years in scouts.
Our Cubmaster Jesse Armstrong has been in a leadership role for 8 years and he will be stepping down from his role. Our Committee chair is finishing up her 5th year in scouting and will also be moving on. We have an immediate need for a CubMaster, Committee Chair and an Treasurer for next year as well as filling important Den leader and Committee positions. If you are interested please contact us today.

More About Pack 187
Our pack usually holds our pack meetings on the third Wends of each month. A pack meeting is when all of our dens, the smaller group of scout arranged by age and grade, get together for a large group activity. Our pack is active in Dan Beard Council and we try to attend many district wide events, such as the CubORee, SpookORee and Scout Residence Camp during the summer.
We do our own fundraising to help offset the costs of scouting for your family, so we can offer you a great product at a low price. Most of our fundraising occurs durring the month of November, and include an Italian Dinner for local patrons.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
